Modest gains for the major indices
The major US indices are trading in the black as the day kicks off.
Eight or so minutes into the new trading day, the snapshot of the market is showing:
- S&P index up for .14 points or 0.14% at 2970.74
- NASDAQ index up 3.768 points or 0.05% at 7997.395
- Dow industrial average up 78.53 points or 0.29% at 26886.30
In the US debt market, yields our marginally higher
- Two year 1.625%, unchanged
- five year 1.5307%, +0.3 basis points
- 10 year 1.6524%, +0.6 basis points
- 30 year 2.104%, +0.1 basis points
In other markets:
- spot gold is trading down $3.90 or -0.25% at $1527.90
- WTI crude oil futures are down $-1.50 or -2.64% at $55.78. The Saudi's are back up to full speed at their refineries.
