The pollsters have been on their abaci and here’s the results of where they see stocks in 2014.
- S&P 1870 by mid-2014, 1925 by 2014 end (up from 1845 in October poll)
- Dow 17015 end of 2014 (16500 Oct)
- FTSE 6820 mid-2014, 7100 end (6900 & 7100 in Oct poll
They also see Eurostoxx rising 12% by the end of 2014, Dax +10% and Italy’s FTSE Mib +27%
Back in the real world, the S&P has opened flat at 1782.60, Dow -20 pts at 15823 and Nasdaq at 4011 +8pts.
Futures were pointing to a lower open for the S&P having been down to 1775.
