Kiwi pops; RBNZ says remove stimulus mid-2010

NZD/USD has taken off, helped by comments from the RBNZ that it may begin removing stimulus around mid-2010. They left rates unchanged at 2.5% but upgraded growth forecasts. Inflation is seen holding below 2% until 2011.

Kiwi reached 0.7173 after the news, breaking above NY afternoon highs at 0.7145.
