TOKYO (MNI) – The ratio of job offers to job seekers at government
placement offices stood at a seasonally adjusted 0.71 in December, up
from 0.69 in November, meaning there were 71 job offers for every 100
people looking for work, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said
Tuesday.
The December figure was the highest in just over three years since
0.75 seen in November 2008.
In 2011, the ratio of job offers to job seekers was at 0.65, up
from 0.52 in 2010 and 0.47 in 2009, posting the highest level since 0.88
in 2008, the ministry said.
