More modest gains and off the highs
The European stocks are mostly closing higher for the 2nd day in a row, but the gains are not as great as Monday. The EURUSD did move lower again today which has given the indices a boost, but the indices were not able to keep the earlier gains.
- German Dax is ending up 0.1%
- France Cac is up 0.4%
- UK FTSE is up 0.4%
- Spain's Ibex is up 0.2%
- Portugal PSI20 was the laggard. It fell 0.48% on the day.
Italy was on holiday today. The markets were closed.
In the 10 year note sector, yields were higher:
- Germany 0.431%, up 2.4 bp
- France 0.725%, up 2.1 bp
- UK 1.083%, up 1.3 bp
- Spain 1.472%, up 3.4 bp
- Portugal 2.849%, up 3.7 bp
- Italy 2.054%, up 3.2 bp
- Greece 5.568%, up 4.6 bp.
