Italian centre-left leader Bersani is playing a game of brinksmanship, as he opposed a technocratic government and a grand coalition with Berlusconi, telling opposition parties to support his government or head to the polls. The only realistic option left is for backing from Grillo’s Five Star protest party.
“Now (Grillo) must say what he wants, otherwise we all go home, including him,” Bersani said.
Grillo has repeatedly said his populist movement would not give a vote of confidence to any government of established parties, although it could support individual laws.
Isn’t there an organisation over there that has persuasive powers to sort these sort of things out?
