Yesterday we got GDP data from Australia for Q1, exports were a big contributor to economic growth in the quarter.
Today we get a first look at official export data for Q2 with the April trade balance, with a sizeable surplus the central expectation:
- The data is due at 0130GMT
- expected +1.0bn
- prior +1527m
Preview via ANZ:
We expect Australia's trade surplus to have narrowed to a still large $1,100m in April. Export revenue looks likely to have been weighed down by lower commodity prices, while we expect imports to have risen modestly
NAB is also expecting a sizeable trade surplus
