AUD/USD edging towards it overnight high - M&A, consumer confidence positives

The Australian dollar is back near its overnight high but will encounter some resistance here (circa 0.7575/80)

Overnight we got some big merger news ... I posted earlier:

Also, today, consumer sentiment looks to be shaking off its blues:

• Australia - Westpac Consumer Confidence Index (Dec): +3.6% m/m (prior -1.7%)
• highest in 4 years
