The Times front page leads with a story that "hedge funds have been eavesdropping on the Bank of England press conferences before they are officially broadcast after its internal systems were hijacked.
Yeah … if you read the article I think this is a furphy.
- "one of its suppliers has been sending an audio feed of its press conferences to high-speed traders"
Um …. what? Press conferences are broadcast live. This is a beat up.
Uh - oh … later reports have it that the audio feed comes out a few seconds before the video feed, which is what the hand-wringing is about.
FFS, broadcast them both live. Problem solved.

More generally, there is a lot of concern about high-speed traders. If you'd like to level the playing field :
- learn to code
- invest in quality hardware.
You're welcome.
