RBA's Debelle says will require counterparties to commit to global FX code

Debelle spoke on the recently launched global FX code

Debelle has recently been giving presentations on the FX Global Code of Conduct

  • "We will require that our counterparties sign the Statement of Commitment, just as we will ourselves"
  • Adhering to the code is likely to become a requirement of Foreign Exchange Committee membership, in many cases before year end

The committee is still looking for feedback before finalizing the code.
