Poll: Who do you think should get the job as new RBA Governor?

Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Glenn Stevens retires in September

With an election coming up in Australia the race is on to appoint a successor to GS. Treasurer Scott Morrison will want to name the name ahead of the election coming up in Australia, if he doesn't he risks leaving the pick to a potential new government.

Reuters have a run down on the names in contention:

  • The main contender is current RBA Deputy Governor Philip Lowe

Also mentioned are

  • David Gruen, a former RBA staffer and currently deputy secretary on economic matters at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet
  • Martin Parkinson (also at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet), Secretary to the Treasury from March 2011 to December 2014
  • The current Treasury Secretary, John Fraser
  • The dark horse is a pick from offshore, as the Bank of England got with Mark Carney
