BOE chief economist Andy Haldane gets the nod from Carney 12 June
Haldane, Executive Director, Monetary Analysis and Statistics, and Chief Economist has been reappointed to the Monetary Policy Committee by Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, after consultation with the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Haldane was first appointed to the MPC on 1 June 2014. This term expired on 31 May 2017.
The delay is nothing sinister. Just that the BOE have been in purdah due to UK election.
Haldane is well known for admitting that the BOE fwd guidance was awful and leans to a dovish stance.
Meanwhile GBPUSD still on session lows at 1.2725 EURGBP 0.8818
