The promise of some decisive action to help end the EZ banking crisis has helped regional sharemarkets open slightly higher. Tokyo and Taiwan are closed, the Kospi is +0.2% as is the All Ords, which had opened slightly lower.
Gold is steady at $1646/0z and oil is trading at $83.25/bbl.
The FX market is fairly quiet although dealers are reporting that EUR/USD bids are starting to appear now around 1.3350, perhaps giving EUR/USD it’s first direction of the week.
