I don't know if that is an intraday record but it is pretty impressive
The USDJPY had a high of 105.457 and a low of 101.179. That is a low to high trading range of 427 pips.
We just reached a high of 105.355 - 10 pips off the high and the completion a full 427 pip intraday trading lap. A record? I do not know, but it is quite impressive.
I guess when you consider that the Dow was down about 800 points and recovered to be up about 200 points at the high, you cannot be too surprised.
We are seeing some apprehension against the high. The highs from October 28th are also in the way at 105.529. Those are the highest highs since July 29th, 2016.
A move above would be more positive. Looking at the daily chart the 200 day MA at the 106.634 would be the next target. We have not closed above that MA level since December 17, 2015
