Major indices higher on Fed cut hope and trade hope
The US stocks are adding to the week's gains at the opening. After a weak start to the week, the major indices are higher with the Dow leading the way at 2.57% currently. The Nasdaq is up by a smaller 1.13%. The S&P is up 2.41% currently.
A snapshot of the numbers shortly after the open are showing:
- The S&P index is up 12.36 points or 0.43% at 2855.85
- The NASDAQ is up 36.19 points or 0.48% at 7651.75
- The Dow is up 111 points or 0.44% at 25832.59

- 10 year 2.067%, -5.0 basis points
- 30 year 2.574%, -3.9 basis points
In other markets:
- spot gold is up $7.70 or 0.58% in $1343.05
- WTI crude oil futures are up $.08 or 0.15% at $52.67
