US/China deal is making progress
Lyft is going public today on the Nasdaq exchange and that is getting a lot of interest in the US stocks. Other than that the US/China talks are progressing and China reps will come to the US next week to continue the talks. That has the shares higher in early trading. NOTE: it is week end, month end and quarterr end so there can be some volatility
The snapshot of the major indices are now showing:
- S&P index up 9.91 points or 0.35% at 2825.35
- NASDAQ indexes up 34.38 points or 0.45% at 7703.54
- Dow industrial average is up 84 points or 0.33% at 25801.92
In the US debt market yields a higher:
- 2 year 2.268%, +3.2 basis points
- 5 year 2.239%, +2.5 basis points
- 10 year 2.417%, +2.2 basis points
- 30 year 2.8352%, +1.0 basis points
In other markets:
- spot gold is trading up $8.71 or 0.67%in $1299.13. That is near the high for the day at $1300.10
- WTI crude oil futures are also higher at $60.13. That is up $.83 or 1.4%
