Stocks turn back down as the close looms

Well the Nasdaq is still up by only marginally.

With a little more than a 1/2 hour left in the 1st trading day of the year, the US stock indices are trading mixed. The S&P have turned back negative after flirting with being higher on the day. The Nasdaq remains up but only marginally.

The snapshot shows:

  • The S&P down -7.5 points or -0.29%
  • The Nasdaq up 6.1 points or 0.09%
  • The Dow is now down -127 points or -0.51%

In the US debt market:

  • 2 year 2.5%, +1.2 basis points
  • 10 year 2.654%, -3.0 basis points
  • 30 year 2.974%, -4.0 basis points

Spot gold is trading at $4.24 or 0.3% at $1281.32.

WTI crude oil futures are trading up $1.11 or 2.44% at $46.53
