ECB adjusts policy
The major European shares are ending the session with declines as ECB lowered growth and adjusted policy.
The provisional closes are showing:
- German Dax, -0.7%
- France's CAC, -0.4%
- UK's FTSE, -0.7%
- Spain's Ibex, -0.4%
- Italy's FTSE MIB, -0.74%
The benchmark 10 year yields in Europe were also lower by a bunch with German yields falling to as low as 0.062% (almost to 0.0%), down 6.1 bps. Italian yields tumbled -10.9 bps
In other markets as London/European traders look to exit:
- spot gold, $-1.10 or -0.08% at $1285.32
- WTI crude oil futures are up $.45 or 0.80% $56.67
In the US stock market, prices are lower but off the lowest levels of the day:
- S&P index -14.63 points or -0.53% at 2756.78
- NASDAQ index -37 points or -0.5% at 7468
- Dow industrial average -194 points or -0.76% at 25479
The CAD is the strongest. The EUR is the weakest.
The EUR pairs are trading near the lows for the day.
