Australian dollar falls back below 200-day moving average, watch the close

AUD/USD continues to flirt with 200-dma

The Australian dollar is trading at a session low and threatens a fresh fall below the 200-day moving average.

AUD/USD fell below the 200-dma on Monday for the first time since early March but reversed later in the day and finished higher. That momentum continued yesterday but today's, 65-pip fall in AUD/USD took out the 200-dma once again.

The 200-dma sits at 0.7259 and it's a key closing level to watch. A break would first target 0.7213 and then the late-Feb low of 0.7110.
