US futures hold higher as tech shares look to bounce back

  • What shutdown?
Wall Street US stocks

No major economic data, no problem. US equities are looking to extend the early October gains into the new week today. Tech shares fell off on Friday amid a rotation into value but everything is falling back into place as we look to the session ahead. S&P 500 futures are up 0.4% with Nasdaq futures up 0.6% currently.

All of this is enough to keep the broader risk mood holding up although in Europe, the situation is a little more tentative. Most major indices in the region are lightly changed but French stocks are down 1.5% after just the first day of the new government as freshly elected prime minister Lecornu hands in his resignation already.
