Qantas issued a statement on the ground handling penalty judgment.
The airline accepted the Federal Court's decision on the penalty for unlawfully outsourcing its ground handling function in 2020.
Qantas will pay a A$90 million penalty in accordance with the court’s orders.
Qantas has also paid A$120 million into a compensation fund for all affected former employees.
While the penalty and compensation are sizable, Qantas had been under pressure to resolve the matter, so markets may view this as removing an overhang.
