Another record for the S&P and NASDAQ indices

  • Dow industrial average closes marginally lower
Stocks close little changed

The broader S&P and NASDAQ indices both closed at record levels once again. The NASDAQ index was led by the surge in AMD after announcing a deal with OpenAI.

The shares of AMD closed up 23.71% at $203.71. If there was a negative from a 23.71% rise, it is that the high price extended to $226.71, and that was above the all-time high closing level of $211.38. The high price today also failed to extend above the all-time intraday high price of $227.30. For what it's worth.

A snapshot of the closing levels shows:

  • Dow industrial average 63.31 points or -0.14% at 46694.97.
  • S&P index rose 24.49 points or 0.36% at 6740.28
