White House press secretary says the Pres. Trump is committed to the tariffs.
When asked about tariff exemptions for farmers, the Press Secretary said
- There are no exemptions at this time
- Any country that has treated the US unfairly should expect to receive a tariff
- The goal is country based tariffs
- It matters how countries respond to bring their tariffs down.
In addition the spokesperson says:
- Considers the case of the Signal chat issue is closed
- Steps have been taken to ensure Signal chat issue does not happen again
