- Hopes US-ASEAN trade is balanced and reciprocal
Now that a Trump-Xi meeting is off the table, I'm not sure if this previous news can be taken as confirmation of his attendance for the upcoming ASEAN Summit in Malaysia next month. Besides, the confirmation was only from the Malaysian camp and so far the US camp has not said anything about this. But if Xi won't be attending, then I won't expect Trump to be as well.
But if there is going to be a US representative present, then that could help to see some discussions on trade at least.
