Greer is testifying in Congress today:
- Vietnam understands that it is a major target of Trump tariff action
- We are trying to work very quickly on trade negotiations
- Trump has been clear that he won't do tariff exemptions in the near term
The question the market has right now is whether the tariffs scheduled to go into effect at midnight are delayed. The thinking around that is: why not have them on Monday with the 10% tariffs?
He was asked if the tariffs would go into effect:
"This is what the President has said," he replied.
He was trying not to make news there or he doesn't really know.
