US major indices open lower on the day

  • Three day win streak is in jeopardy

The major US indices are lower in early US trading. The Dow industrial average is the biggest loser. The NASDAQ index is now trading above and below the unchanged level. The major indices have risen for 3 consecutive days. Yesterday the S&P index closed within three or four points of the all-time record high close.

The small-cap Russell index is trading down around -12.89 points or -0.57% at 2258.77.

US yields are still modestly lower at the curve. The two year is up 0.5 basis points.

Crude oil is trading at $71.71. That's down from the settle price of $72.36 yesterday.

Gold is down around five dollars at $1777.80.

The price of bitcoin is trading below the 49,000 at $48,954.
