US equity futures rise: S&P 500 set for a clean break of 5000

  • The S&P 500 briefly traded above 5000 yesterday before closing just below
SPX 5000

Lower revisions to US CPI numbers from late last year have boosted US equity futures. S&P 500 futures are up 13 points, or 0.2%. That will be enough for a clean break of 5000 in the cash market after closing at 4998 yesterday.

US dollar selling has picked back up, which is also a good sign for stocks.
