Warning - this post may contain hints of a spine in some US Senators. I'm sure its just phase they are going through.

Several senior Republican senators have joined Democrats in voting to terminate President Trump’s national emergency declaration underpinning the new tariff regime on Brazil.
Senators Thom Tillis, Rand Paul, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski have all voted in favour of ending the emergency, breaking ranks with the White House and signalling rare bipartisan resistance to the administration’s expansive tariff powers.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has also said he will vote to overturn the declaration, marking a significant rebuke from within Trump’s own party.
The resolution targets the national emergency order used to justify higher tariffs on Brazilian imports, part of Trump’s broader “reciprocal trade” agenda. While the measure is expected to pass the Senate with bipartisan support, the White House has already signalled that Trump will veto it, setting up another confrontation between the executive and Congress over trade authority.

The Senate move raises uncertainty over the durability of Trump’s “reciprocal tariff” regime, which has affected Brazilian exports and U.S. commodity imports. A veto is expected, but signs of Republican defection could weigh on confidence in future trade actions.
