Trump: Will reduce prices by a 100% and in some cases more

  • So do you mean FREE?
Trump math

Pres. Trump is on the wires saying:

  • We will be reducing prices by 100% and in some cases more.

Just to check my math, I asked ChatGPT what happens to prices if they are reduced by 100%.

It's response:

If you reduce a price by 100%, it means the entire price is eliminated — in other words, the item becomes free.

Example:

  • Suppose a concert ticket costs $50.

  • A 100% reduction means:

    50−(100%×50)=50−50=050 - (100\% \times 50) = 50 - 50 = 050−(100%×50)=50−50=0
  • So the new price is $0.

👉 A reduction of 100% = no cost at all.

Something is wrong with the headline, but the Pres. is scheduled to make an announcment on drug prices with a deal expected with Pfizer. The expectations is for prices to be reduced by something. I don't think he means 100% though.
