Switzerland April trade balance CHF 4.13 billion vs CHF 2.99 billion prior

  • Latest data released by the Federal Statistics Office - 31 May 2022
  • Prior CHF 2.99 billion; revised to CHF 2.97 billion

The Swiss trade surplus expanded in April, as the value of imports (-21.7%) shrunk at a much faster pace as compared to exports (-14.6%) on the month. The worsening trade conditions come amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict and that saw the Swiss trade surplus shrunk to its smallest since January last year in March.
