SEC votes to shorten trading settlement to 1 business day

That's overdue

I can't think of any knock on effects for markets from this but it will make some of the mechanics of stock market settlement simpler. In Australia, the ASX spent a few years trying to use blockchain for quicker stock settlement but abandoned the project late last year.
