PBoC says it will provide lending support to China state fund Huijin if needed

The People's Bank of China is pledging lending for the sovereign wealth fund to buy equities. Put another way,the central bank is effectively providing direct support for the market. I wonder how this differs the Bank of Japan buying ETFs over the years?
