Later this afternoon, Apple’s Tim Cook is expected to announce an additional $100 billion investment in U.S. operations—on top of the $500 billion already pledged for expanding domestic production. While it’s unlikely Apple will build the iPhone in the U.S. due to cost, the new investment could support other production needs or make use of existing capacity.
