Macron pushes for strong Ukraine stance ahead of Washington talks

French President Macron said the situation ahead of tomorrow's talks in Washington is extremely serious, not only for Ukraine but also for Europe.

Macron stated that France wants strong and lasting peace for Ukraine.

Macron emphasized that Ukraine's territorial integrity must be respected.

Macron said Ukraine must be represented in any talks on its future.

Macron noted that the format of Ukraine's army is the first pillar in any security guarantees for Ukraine.

Macron said the goal for tomorrow's talks is to present a united front between Ukraine and its European allies.

Macron warned that if weakness is shown today in front of Russia, it will lay the ground for future conflicts.

Macron called for moving into a new diplomatic phase regarding Ukraine.

Macron stressed that Europe must be at the table when it comes to talking about European matters.

Macron said that in order to have a lasting peace deal for Ukraine, Ukraine needs a strong army.

On the Russia-Ukraine war, Macron said he does not believe Putin wants peace.

Macron said no country can accept the loss of territories unless it has security guarantees for its remaining territory.

Macron stated that if Europe wants to be free and independent, it needs to be feared and strong.

Macron warned that if Europe is weak today, it will pay a heavy price tomorrow.
