Hopes for a peace deal continue to crumble. Russia rejected any situation where foreign troops would be stationed in Ukraine to provide security guarantees, which has been one of the key requests for a peace deal from Western countries. On the other hand, Ukraine isn't on the board to give up its territories for a peace deal.
