- in Mainland China this day is not marked as a statutory public holiday, as such markets are open (Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and many mainland counterparts will be open for trading on 29 Oct 2025)
In contrast, in Hong Kong the stock market will be closed:
- Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) is closed in observance of Chung Yeung
- north-bound trading via the Shanghai/Shenzhen Connect will be unavailable
Expect lower liquidity, possibly reduced turnover, and potentially wider spreads especially in instruments connected to China or Hong-Kong
