Iran's Foreign Minister lays down conditions for a deal with the US ahead of weekend talks

  • Nuclear enrichment deadlock to persist?

Iran’s Foreign Minister announced via social media that he is heading to Rome for a fifth round of indirect talks with the United States, underscoring the urgency and clarity of Tehran’s negotiating stance.

In the message, he framed the path to a potential agreement in blunt terms:

“Zero nuclear weapons = we DO have a deal.

Zero enrichment = we do NOT have a deal.”

The remarks suggest that while Iran remains open to diplomacy, it is unwilling to forgo uranium enrichment—long a sticking point in nuclear negotiations. The talks come amid renewed efforts to revive diplomacy and break the deadlock over Iran’s nuclear program.

The outcome of the talks should influence oil early in the new week. Its probably likely that the deadlock will persist. We'll see.
