Goldman Sachs expects ECB to hike rates by 25 bps in May next

  • The firm revises lower its call from a 50 bps rate hike

That follows the policy decision yesterday, with Goldman Sachs now seeing the terminal rate for the ECB at 3.50% (previously 3.75%). On the outlook, they say that the ECB remains in tightening mode despite financial market volatility and that core inflation is to remain firm in the coming months in the euro area.
