German industrial production climbed slightly in February but against the backdrop of pre-pandemic levels i.e. February 2020, production is still down by 3.8%. The German stats office notes that this gap is likely to be due to the continuing shortage of intermediate products, because of which many enterprises have problems completing new orders.
