Chinese President Xi is expected to meet with Trump at 11am South Korea time Thursday, 30 October 2025

The meeting is expected to go for around three to four hours.

  • prior negotiations took place between underlings in Malaysia
  • Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent a framework around trade was agreed
  • Trump and Xi will be in a position to finalise the deal
  • a truce is expected, deadlines to be extended
  • given we have had two of these 'deals' already since Trump took office any agreement is likely to be only temporary, short-term
