China's new COVID case count for the day has hit a fresh record high, nearly 32K

Keeping track of this as it'll delay any reopening in China. Authorities there are trying a more targeted approach to lockdowns but they are not shy in closing down vast areas. Wuhan (remember them?), for example, have stopped all public transit.
