China Q1 2022 GDP beats estimates at 4.8% y/y (4.4% was the expected)

Its a very rare event indeed when China's economic growth number misses the median estimate. Certainly not today.

Q1 2022 GDP:

+1.3% q/q

• expected 0.6%, prior 1.6%

+4.8% y/y

• expected 4.4%, prior 4.0%
