Canada's next federal election is scheduled for October 20, 2025. It can be called on an earlier date if the government loses a confidence vote in the House of Commons or if the Prime Minister requests the Governor General dissolve Parliament. Carney has indicated that he may call an early federal election, potentially by the end of April or early May 2025
