The US House and Senate have announced an agreement on legislation to suspend normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus. That includes banning Russian energy imports.
The US is less reliant on Russian oil.
However in Europe, the story is different.
Crude oil is trading at $117.73. That is is up around two dollars on the day.
