These are Biden's first comments since speaking with Senator Joe Manchin on Monday. The pair are trying to find common ground to get a deal done and push through Biden's signature legislation.
Of course, the gap between 'close' and a passed vote is often a large one and Manchin's comments this week don't sound 'close' at all.
