+1.2% m/m, much better!

For the q/q, comes in at +0.3%, up from

• prior +0.1%

We had remarks earlier from Reserve Bank of Australia Deputy Governor Hauser:

• Expects to see further recovery in consumer spending
• Consumer confidence is pretty weak

He'll be happy with these results. June is a big month for discounting, but, still, that factor is expressed in the 'expected'. The results are a solid, and welcome, beat.
