- For the four weeks ending Nov. 1, 2025, private employers shed an average of 2,500 jobs a week as employment losses slowed heading into November.
The initial report weekly showed a healthy +14,250 jobs gain. The report will be published weekly except during the week when the monthly ADP numbers are released at the beginning of each calendar month.
Earlier today, the initial jobless claims for the week of October 18 was released early in showed 232K with continuing claims or 1.957M.
The last release was the week of September20 At that time, the initial jobless claims came in at 219K . The continuing claims for the October 11 week was at 1.947M So each are higher.
Oxford Economics - looking at the unadjusted state level data – estimated that the jobs claims should have come in at 231K which was spot on the actual number. They see the October 25 week to show a decline of -12K to 219K, but did warn that there may be risk to that estimate.
