White House on Syria
There are/were fears that the US could launch some kind of heavy assault on Syria today after Trump's tweet but that's not what Sarah Sanders says.
The White House spokeswoman says Trump still wants to get troops out of Syria but also wants to make sure Assad is deterred from using chemical weapons.
So naturally this lowers the chance of a major conflict. That said, Trump has often talked about wanting to be unpredictable.
