It took a few days, but there is an apology
The WSJ is reporting that the White House advisor, Peter Navarro apologized for the "special place in hell" comment directed at Canada's PM Justin Trudeau.
Personally, that comment crossed a line not only for its implications but also it's implied power of "Donald J. Trump".
Here is his comment:
"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door,"
First, "bad faith" applies both ways. Secondly, stabbing in the back applies both ways, and finally it implies Donald J. Trump has reserved spots in hell for his enemies and has the power to make it happen.
Ludicrous comment and over the line, but I am glad he apologized (I hope it was personally to Trudeau as well).
