The Senate appears to be on board, with several members predicting 60-70 votes in favor in the 100 member Senate. The White House says they are on board (though Obama left some wiggle room)… The only big player not to weigh in yet on the so-called Gang of Six proposal is House speaker Boehner.
The proposed deal has $1 trln in new tax revenues generated by closing loopholes. It also does away with dreaded Alternative Minimum Tax. It cuts the deficit by a total of $3.7 bln over 10-years. A good start…
